Intel finally announced their awaited 11th Gen (codenamed Tiger Lake) laptop processors which comes with their new Xe graphics, Wi-Fi 6, PCIe Gen 4, and Thunderbolt 4 support. They claim, these are the best performing CPU’s for thin and light notebooks.
These new CPU’s has integrated Xe Graphics from Intel which they claim are 2 times faster than their previous lineup of CPU’s (10th Gen). These processors are still based on 10nm, but their new 10nm SuperFin design improves performance and consumes less power. Intel says these CPU’s will be about 20% faster in office/daily tasks comparing to 10th Gen CPU’s. They also showed some demos and gaming performance was better or similar to a 10th Gen CPU working with a Nvidia MX350.
They also talked about their new Evo branding which is similar to last year’s Project Athena. These Evo branded systems will be powered by their 11th Gen CPU’s and will be good in every aspect. If you see a Evo branded system it means you are buying a really good system. These Evo laptops will have 9 hours or more battery life (1080p displays). They will also support fast charging giving you 4 hours of charge in just 30 minutes, and will wake up in less than a second. They will also have Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 4 support.
