Samsung just unveiled their latest foldable phone, Samsung Z Fold 2 5G. For a price of $1,999.99 (US) this phone is releasing on September 18 and pre-orders are starting today (September 1).
This phone is fixing all the design flaws of their first foldable Galaxy Fold. This foldable comes with a new hinge and a new glass for the screen. When closed the 6.2-inches Super AMOLED (2260 x 816) cover display is a great upgrade over the previous front displays. When you unfold the device, you get a look at that 7.6-inches Foldable Display (1768 x 2208) display and now with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It comes with the Snapdragon 865+ which is the fastest processor for any android device on the market right now. It is available with base storage of 256 GB, you can upgrade it up to 512 GB (UFS 3.1) and has 12 GB of RAM.
Now let’s talk about the improvement in hinge and screen which are the major part of a foldable. This phone has a completely new glass over its display called Ultra Thin Glass (UTG), which feels like plastic but its not . Now, the hinge is really improved comparing to its predecessors. There are some brushes on the hinge which helps to keep the hinge safe from dust and dirt. Because of new hinge it can also stay open at different angles. This phone consists of total 5 cameras, one on the cover display (10 MP wide) another one on the right side of main display (10 MP wide) and other 3 are the rear cameras (12 MP wide, 12MP telephoto, 12MP ultrawide).
