Kidnappers arrested four years after being handcuffed and taken to India

Susan Limbu, who was involved in criminal activities based in Morang Urlabari, has been arrested.

Police have arrested Limbu, a fugitive accused of kidnapping, hostage-taking and theft.

A team led by Inspector Uddhav Pokharel of Area Police Office Urlabari has arrested Rajeshwar Limbu alias Susan, 34, of Urlabari Municipality-5.

Limbu was arrested four years after he was convicted by a court.

The district court of Jhapa had convicted him and sentenced him to 9 years and 15 days imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 78,800 on January 20, 2008.

Defendants convicted by the Limbu court on the basis of Vishal Dhungel’s complaint.

According to Morang Police Chief Superintendent of Police Santosh Khadka, Limbu was taken under control from Urlabari-4 on Sunday and handed over to Jhapa Police.

Limbu had abducted Vishal Dhungel of Birtamod-6 on December 3, 2008. 

Limbu tied Dhungel in a vehicle (Ba 13 Cha 6597) and took him to Bharat Panityanki. 

After reaching Panitanki, Dhungel escaped and came to Kakadvitta and lodged a complaint with the police. 

According to Jhapa Superintendent of Police Sanuram Bhattarai, the district court had sentenced Limbu to seven years in prison on January 26, 2008 on charges of human abduction, abduction and theft. 

He was produced before the Jhapa District Court on Wednesday.
